Valsanzibio Baroque Garden

The Villa Barbarigo and its monumental garden, designed by Luigi Bernini, were built during the Seventeenth century by one of the most important and rich Venetian families, the Barbarigo.

We begin the visit from the village of Valsanzibio, which takes its name from the ancient monastery dedicated to San Zibio and preceded by “valley” that means marshland.

From here we go to discover the Garden of Villa Barbarigo which, with its Baroque architecture, water tricks, fountains and statues is also called “the little Versailles of Colli Euganei” or “The Pearl of the Euganean Hills”. The Baroque Monumental Garden built in 1665 is considered one of the most significant gardens in Europe, also awarded with the Most beautiful Garden Award in Italy in 2003.
