We are at Terme and Colli Euganei in the Venice inland, in a natural park surrounded by medieval waterways.
The Euganean Hills have been a destination for travelers since the Grand Tour, thanks to the presence of the thermal baths and the house of Petrarch in Arquà. During the Renaissance period, there were built many Venetian villas and the waterways had a fundamental importance of connection between Padua or Venice and the Euganean Hills.
Start your experience with the visit of the magnificent Villa dei Vescovi, the summer residence of the Bishops of Padua for many centuries. The Villa was a cultural center, but also an agricultural center for the lands and vineyards that still today surround the villa.
Lunch in the villa.
We now invite you to go by your own to Battaglia terme, an ancient river port, to discover the Inland navigation Museum, the only one of its kind in Italy.
Finally, you will have a boat tour on a traditional Venetian wooden boat (the caorlina), guided by four experienced rowers who practice Venetian rowing, like the Venetian gondoliers. Along these medieval canals, during the last centuries many goods were shipped by boat to Venice: cereal, wine, fruit, coal, wood and stone used by the Venetians to pave the Piazza San Marco itself!
