TREKKING AND SPA ON THE EUGANEAN HILLS GROUP TOUR

DAY 1: ARRIVAL

Arrival and hotel accommodation

DAY 2: BATTAGLIA TERME AND THE MONTE CEVA TRAIL (10 km, altitude difference +/- 280 m, 3.5 h)

Departure on foot from the hotel. From the Monte Croce quarry, you climb up Monte Spinefrasse. Once you reach the ridge, you continue along the woods. Approaching the summit of Monte Ceva, one of the most beautiful views of the entire Euganean area opens up: the landscape becomes rugged, you climb along strands of latitic rocks, covered with lush cactus and agave bushes. Arriving near the metal cross, your gaze is captivated by a breathtaking panorama, which spans 360° over the ridges of the Euganean Hills, the spa area and the surrounding plain. At the foot of Monte Nuovo is the Catajo Castle which we will visit. We will end with the discovery of the seaside village of Battaglia Terme, once a very important hub of river trade.

DAY 3: THE GARDEN OF VALSANZIBIO AND MONTE CALBARINA (12 km, 350 m altitude difference, 4.5 h of walking)

Through the valleys of the Venetian reclamation, the itinerary will lead to the old village of Valsanzibio with Villa Barbarigo Pizzoni Ardemani, one of the most precious jewels of the Euganean Hills, with its and its symbolic 17th-century Garden. Visit the monumental Garden of Villa Barbarigo which, thanks to its monumental entrance, its water games, fountains, statues and its mysterious labyrinth, is also known as the “Little Versailles” of the Euganean Hills. After lunch on your own, the itinerary continues up through mixed chestnut and oak woods until you descend towards Monte Piccolo and Monte Calbarina. At the foot of the mountain, stop in a cellar for a tasting of wines from the Euganean Hills. At the end, transfer back to the hotel.

DAY 4: ARQUÀ PETRARCA AND MONTE FASOLO (13 km, 500 m altitude difference, 5.5 h walking)

In the morning, transfer to Arquà Petrarca. Walk through a small medieval center, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. You will discover the lower village and the lower village: the first preserves the remains of the poet, while in the second is the house where he spent the last years of his life. After visiting Arquà, we set off on foot to reach the ridge of Monte Mottolone where you can observe the arid meadows, one of the most particular and evocative natural environments of the Euganean Hills. The route continues through Monte Rusta and Monte Fasolo and then returns to Arquà where the transfer awaits us to return to the hotel.
