This tour is dedicated to those who want to live a full-day immersion experience in the Euganean Hills environment, discovering the most characteristic villages, one of the most representative villas, without missing a wine tasting to complete the day.
PROGRAM:
The excursion starts from Abano/Montegrotto with an appointment at your hotel or at the Terme Euganee train station. After a panoramic tour of the Hills, the first stop is at the Gardens of Valsanzibio, an ancient property of the Barbarigo family from the end of 1500 to 1700. The historic garden of Villa Barbarigo is certainly one of the most important Italian gardens ever. The ancient boxwood labyrinth is famous, as well as the precious heritage of statues of allegorical mythological subjects, water games, and architectural decorations. Free walk through the garden and then continue to Arquà Petrarca, a fourteenth-century medieval village that still retains its ancient charm. Arquà owes its fame to the eternal fame of Francesco Petrarca, the poet who spent the last years of his life there. You will not miss a taste of the famous liqueur produced here, Brodo di giuggiole. Finally, transfer to the winery for a light lunch based on local products, accompanied by a tasting of 3 wines from the Euganean Hills.
We will pick you up at your hotel in Abano or Montegortto Terme. Possibility to organize the appointment at the Terme Euganee Abano-Montegrotto train station or at another specific point on request.
