VILLA DEI VESCOVI AND PRAGLIA WITH WINE TASTING
This tour gives you the opportunity to discover the highlights of the Euganean Hills Natural Park.
The Euganean Hills are a group of volcanic hills that rise 50 km from Venice and 20 km from Padua. In this area the Venetian nobles built their residences during the Renaissance. Thanks to their volcanic origin, the soils here are rich in minerals that give special character to the wine.
PROGRAM
Deliver the bike and set off for the excursion in this beautiful natural area. You will arrive at Villa dei Vescovi, a Venetian Renaissance villa, residence of the Bishop of Padua for many centuries and take a walk in the Italian garden! The Villa was built during the 16th century on top of a hill surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills. The second stage of the excursion continues towards the Praglia Abbey, the most important Benedictine monastery of the Euganean Hills. Here the monks pray, work and restore ancient books. Back on the bike, pedal through the hills to reach a local winery, particularly attentive to biodiversity. The winemaker will guide you for a visit to his cellar and will offer you a wine tasting including Moscato giallo, Serprino and Prosecco, Merlot rosso and Cabernet (paired with local cheeses and cured meats). You will discover how the soil and the microclimate influence the taste of wine. At the end of the tasting, return to the shop to return the bike.
