THROUGH THE EUGANEAN HILLS AND THE LAGOON OF VENICE

POINT TO POINT GROUP TOUR

DAY 1 – ARRIVAL AT THE EUGANEAN THERMAL BATHS

Arrival and check-in at the hotel in the Euganean Thermal Baths

DAY 2 – FROM THE EUGANEAN HILLS TO CHIOGGIA (55 km – no elevation gain)

Today’s destination rightly deserves the nickname “Little Venice.” Many small bridges and canals make Chioggia resemble its bigger sister. As you get closer to the lagoon, the major rivers and countless slow-moving canals leading to the sea create a landscape balanced between land and water, telling the story of a territory shaped over time by man. The view is filled with wheat fields, old farmhouses with reed roofs, beautiful Venetian villas, and large Benedictine courtyards. Once you arrive in Chioggia, you will have time to enjoy the lively atmosphere of this fishing town before the return transfer. Overnight in Chioggia.

DAY 3 – THE ISLANDS OF THE LAGOON: PELLESTRINA AND LIDO DI VENEZIA (35 km – no elevation gain)

By boat, you will reach Pellestrina, a narrow strip of land between the Adriatic Sea and the lagoon. The island is made up of small villages with colorful houses that line up along the lagoon, flower-filled gardens, vegetable plots, and a couple of small restaurants where you can taste the authentic lagoon cuisine. In San Pietro in Volta, you will board a boat to head to the Lido of Venice, another strip of land that separates the Venetian lagoon from the Adriatic Sea. Inhabited since ancient times, loved by poets and writers, and a meeting point for high society since the 1920s, here you can breathe in the tranquil and elegant atmosphere of beautiful places that remain unknown to the masses. The crowds only come here for the Film Festival, but for the rest of the year, peace reigns. The boat trip to Tronchetto in Venice includes a beautiful passage with a view of St. Mark’s Square. Overnight in Mestre.

DAY 4 – THE BRENTA RIVIERA TO PADUA (50 km – no elevation gain)

Today you will follow the cycling route known as the “Brenta Cycle Path,” a route along secondary roads that follow the Brenta River canal, dotted with numerous prestigious historic villas. In Dolo, you will stop in the historic center, characterized by the boatyard and the ancient mill built on an island in the canal. You will have the opportunity to visit Villa Pisani in Stra, also known as the “Queen of Venetian Villas.” Today, it is a National Museum that preserves 18th and 19th-century furnishings and artworks, including Gianbattista Tiepolo’s masterpiece “Glory of the Pisani Family.” You will continue until you reach Padua with its squares, the Basilica of St. Anthony, and Prato della Valle. Soon, you will be nearing your destination. Overnight at the Euganean Thermal Baths.
